the cheapest bowl of porridge i had was 4.80 pounds which is close to RM 30 !!!! for an average bowl of porridge..anything below 5 pounds here is counted super cheap already..and for a prawn dish here at Chinatown is 28 pounds!!! RM 180 !!!!!! thank goodness im only staying here for another night or i don't know how im going to be managing my money.
and shopping here is craaazy nice! but its not sales season now, so everything is damn expensive..40 to 50 pounds (RM 240 to RM 300) per pair of shoes are normal here. counted quite cheap already and 30 pounds (RM 180) would be a steal.
oh and i had gelato today..4 POUNDS PER SCOOP!! and its not even some large or x-large scoop. those are like almost 7 pounds per scoop. sigh, so expensive!!
hmm, i feel so homesick. spent alot of money today walking around for 6 hours straight just to shop for shoes and clothes :(
retail therapy really works well for me you know.
before i land, at the Dubai airport for 4 hours! really tiring but had no choice, so i had to come online at Burger King.
Mushroom Swiss Burger, super damn delicious! the Burger King in Dubai taste extra delish and the burgers are extra huge! price also extra expensive, 35 bucks for a burger set and onion rings!!
and finally, we land at Heathrow airport where we waited for 4 to 5 hours LINING UP for the customs under the "student" line. alot of foreign students coming in to study and they only opened one counter at first, thus the extreme slowness. imagine that, after an 18 hour transit flight, we still had to stand for 4 to 5 hours carrying our baggages just to pass the customs..urgh.
hot chocolate which tasted soooo good.
some cheese sandwich..had to eat something before taking medication so i simply grabbed this..RM 18 !!!!!! counted damn cheap already ok 3 pounds (+ another 3 for hot chocolate) for a meal.
sorry to keep talking about the price but its just, damn expensive!! M'sia can eat Ramly burger for RM 3.50 and for a freaking sandwich here, its already RM 18 !!!
Marks and Spencer! im living at the busiest shopping street in the whole of Europe, Oxford Circus, but i don't even bother walking into those shops because they're all so expensive. expensive for us but cheap for the locals because they don't have to lose anything through currency exchange. so i rather spend my money on groceries and buying food! felt really happy to see those really big raspberries, cereal and biscuits (groceries in here alone are already almost 30 pounds =/)

coming here made me realize how much more i have to go through, how much more i have to learn. i came to realize that all these while i've been in M'sia, im always spoilt and pampered like a princess. now, i have to wash the bowl just to eat my cereal, and then have to wash it again to clean up. i hardly could even wash my one bowl and spoon properly without wetting my sleeves :(
and if i want to wear something, i have to iron it..want to eat something? go down and buy, not just sit in front of the laptop and call out for someone to get food for me.
im going down to Manchester tomorrow, where i will be left alone soon. right now im staying with one of my friend in London. with help, i still cannot manage everything properly, what more if im going to be left alone there? urgh. i am homesick, after just 2 days..i wanna go home :(
